Everyone always asks what the difference is between laser cutting, laser engraving, laser marking and laser graphic imaging.  Well here are a few illustration to help you to fully understand the differences and capabilities of a CO2 Laser System.

Laser Cutting

Laser beam cuts completely through material along a designated path creating a clean polished high quality edge. Some of the materials we can cut completely through are acrylic, wood, cork, microsurface materials, paper, cardboard, cardstock.  This method provides a wide variety of uses in a lot of different industries including:  Architecture, modeling, prototyping, fabrication, scrap booking and many others.

Laser Engraving

Laser beam vaporizes the material to a user controlled depth creating a high quality flat edge.  This method is the main function of a CO2 laser system.  Materials that can be engraved are  wood, glass, plastics, acrylics, textiles and more.  Laser engraving can increase your productivity over traditional engraving methods.  The flexibility and versatility of laser processing allows you to mass-produce corporate logos and messaging and also process custom jobs as needed.

Laser Marking

The laser beam modifies the material surface, creating permanent marks without removing material or impacting surface integrity.  The laser is capable of marking on a wide variety of materials, including anodized aluminum, plastics, wood, glass, marble, textiles and more.  Accurately, quickly and easily laser mark barcodes, serial numbers, text and logos created in any graphics software or labeling program.  Serial and identification numbers can be quickly and easily marked or engraved on a number of materials.  Personalization of consumer goods Golf clubs, baseballs, bats and a multitude of other sporting equipment and accessories can be laser marked with a personal or team identity.

Laser Graphic Imaging

The laser beam modifies the material, producing permanent photographic images on a variety of materials.
